Strategies to Involve Parents in Early Intervention

Author: Jenna Lequia, Ph.D.

An important element of early intervention programs across the country is the emphasis on the family unit. Parents and/or caregivers are active players throughout the early intervention process – evaluation, sessions, meetings, and transitioning to preschool. This module is intended to provide early intervention professionals with feasible strategies that can be used to increase parent involvement in sessions.

*Please note: Upon completion of this module, you are eligible to receive a certificate for 1 CEU for NYS BEI.

These online learning modules are part of the New York State Systemic Improvement Plan (SSIP), Improving Family Centeredness Together (IFaCT) Project, aimed to improve family-centeredness in early intervention. The project is funded by the New York State Department of Health Bureau of Early Intervention.
